Isola Bio is a House with solid foundations – from our beginnings, our roots have been in organic, plant-based, sustainable food. We have been hosting genuineness for 20 years now…and want to keep such a special guest over with us forever!

At Isola Bio, we have always been committed to supporting health-conscious food choices. It’s a fact – we can’t help believing in truly organic eating habits and have been putting all our passion into nurturing them right from the start. It all begins in our own Italian Lands, where we carefully grow the finest cereals that bring you our trademark organic deliciousness every day. Season by season, we deliver pure goodness with a little help from Nature and the hard work of our dedicated farmers.

Many European countries recognise this certification, which attest — through strict controls and inspections the ability to supply safe products that comply with contractual specifications and legal requirements. Our products have been ranked an HIGHER LEVEL.

We started back in 1999 with an aim: changing plant-based forever.

Isola Bio was inspired by the vision of a small family company based in Badia Polesine, Veneto – Italy, back in the days where cow milk was still the standard consumer’s choice and soy stood as the sole dairy alternative.

As Isola Bio, we chose to make a stand back then: to create new plant-based alternatives that could tick a few particular boxes – good taste, organic ingredients and healthy nutritionals.

An endless number of innovative developments resulted from that commitment – namely, our Isola Bio Rice drink, the first drink to have ever been extracted from cereals,  now a staple for vegetarians or lactose- and gluten-sensitive consumers – and many more are still to come.

Yes – because we were born organic and our heart will keep beating to the same innovative rhythm.

All the best nutrients in nature can be sourced from the soil of our lands.  It takes nothing else to produce healthy food for a balanced diet. Cool, isn’t it?

This is exactly  what inspired us to create the first-ever 100% plant-based cereal drink range. We went great lengths to achieve this – we even patented a unique extraction process – but the story of Isola Bio was only to continue.

Our passion for cereals has grown over the years and so has our expertise, leading to the creation of our own farm in 2007, with rich, uncontaminated fields stretching across Molise, Puglia, Veneto and Emilia Romagna.

Since then, we have placed our La Goccia farm at the very centre of our certified organic food chain, always harvesting genuineness from our passionately-farmed lands and delivering it to our House to craft our delicious drinks.

With every sip of our Oat, Millet and Spelt, you will get all the taste and organic quality that our lands and experience. We can vouch for that. And so can our certifications.

Isola Bio is more than just a House. It is hundreds of hectares of sun-kissed fields across our beloved land, Italy.  It is our Lands.
The seed of our organic commitment and love for taste-making is planted right there, season by season, by 35 farming families who share the same passion and beliefs as we do.

Believe us – without them, the organic experience we offer could never be so wonderfully unique.
That’s why we care about them a great deal.

Whether in Molise or Veneto, Puglia or Emilia-Romagna, we stand by their side through good or bad years and carefully follow each stage of the farming process.

We work like this

We decided to be farmers back in 2007, when we founded  the La Goccia farm – a choice we are proud of, as this was the first step to creating a fully-supervised wholly-organic food chain and achieving the most recognised certifications in the organic industry.

Since then, we and our farmers have worked as one to grow, select and stock our grains, making sure every possible bit of natural goodness is preserved in our recipes. Teamwork and dedication – should these count as ingredients too?

Our Energy is Green

At Isola Bio, we are focused on the quality of our products just as much as on their eco-friendliness. No wonder we have created one of the most sustainable co-generation plants in the world to power our production process. Based on “air bearings”, our system makes sure we optimise use of exhaust gases from the turbines to produce the saturated steam required in production.

As a result,  40% of our energy is co-generated by our own production processes. Another 58% comes from the certified renewable energy sources we buy. The remaining 2% comes from the photovoltaic system installed on the roof of our House.

We told you from the start – our heart is green. Indeed.

A pack with the greenest heart!

Sustainable on the inside… and outside as well! Our drinks never bend this rule, which is even easier to follow with the new TetraPak® Bio-based 1L briks.

By adopting this innovative TetraPak® technology, all Isola Bio drinks have now achieved the highest sustainable content and obtained the prestigious TÜV OK-Biobased© certification and is recyclable in paper or plastic according to the municipality.

Our Zero-Waste Policy on Water

Sorry, we can’t stand water waste. It’s a rule for life at Isola Bio and we are on a mission to hit the zero-waste mark. Curious about it?

To start with, we rely on a complete-cycle water system: that is, the water we use in production goes through routine checks and must meet all the relevant chemical, physical and microbiological standards.

Also – inverse osmosis is key to our water management: it provides the highest level of filtration without resorting to chemical regenerants. Water is then remineralised, making it suitable for beverage production.

Finally, we only release our industrial wash water into surface water after active sludge depuration takes place.

Giving back to Nature as much as we take from it or even more – that’s the idea.
